...according to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , Lexus RC and GS models will be getting a 2.0T option next year. Now if only Lexus would have the stones to drop the 2.oT into the CT, combined with the hybrid power that could make for a mean and green hot-hatch.

The CT F-Sport is a nice looking little hatchback.

Also, does this mean we're about to see Toyota bring back something fun and turbocharged like the Supra?

It's such a shame the CT F-Sport is all show, no go.

It would seem a waste to have a 2.0T at Toyota's disposal and not use it across multiple models. My guess is the next candidate would be the IS as the base V6 is pretty sad compared to the turb-4 competition.

You know if they dropped the 2.0T into the IS and gave us a 3 pedal option I think it would be a serious consideration over the 3 series.

If the 2.5L and 3.5L share architecture it is probably cheaper for Lexus to keep the 2.5L, unless they wanted to redesign the engine bay for an I4. Also, I had no idea the 3-Series competitor IS 250 starts at $36k! That's a few grand more than Audi and BMW.

And it is no wonder you don't see that many IS cars on the road compared to the 3.

Unfortunately, they won't offer 3 pedals anymore.

And while I love your idea for the CT, the issue is that Toyota uses their electronic throttle and it's horrid. They have so little tip-in programmed into it, I get angry every time I drive one. Presumably it's to tweak their MPG ratings and because they are scared of people touching the gas pedal now.

They probably will use the Turbo-4 in the IS because the 2.5 is a terrible engine and is outclassed by everything else it competes against.

Yeah I knew the 3-pedal idea was a long shot...the take rate on 3-pedal BMW/Audi is really low, but they will keep offering them because of the popularity in Europe. Lexus doesn't have that global reach to justify the clutch. I had a feeling that 2.5 was just a stand-in until a nice turbo 4 could be developed.

I agree I like the styling and it would have cheap power that would also have impressive luxury
